In September 2012, Weylandts, one of SA’s leading furniture and décor retailers, introduced its successful in-store Bistro, The Kitchen, to its Green Point store. Cow Africa was charged with creating awareness and driving trial for the launch.
What we did:
We distributed coffee vouchers and menus to local businesses in and around Green Point, positioning The Kitchen as the ideal lunch and quick catch-up destination. Key media personalities were invited for lunch-for-two at The Kitchen bistro, using beautifully designed and produced media packs. We also reinforced this positioning with a traditional PR push.
Apart from receiving considerable media coverage from the media pack drop – like numerous impressive photos uploaded to Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook – key media, such as Lana Kenney, Talya Goldberg and O Magazine shared their experiences on blogs and social networks. We also received several news features in traditional press and online publications like Woman & Home and Cape Town Magazine.
